There are performances that fill a programme, and there are performances that stay with the room after the final note. On 29 September 2026, Sama Sojah stepped onto the Catwalk Lounge stage for Afro Soul & Reggae Night and performed with Janzi Band in a set that brought the music fully to life.
With Janzi Band providing the live musical foundation, Sama Sojah carried the performance with his unmistakable voice, lyrical delivery and confident stage presence. The result was not simply a sequence of songs. It was a live reggae exchange between artist, musicians and audience.
A performance built for the room
The chemistry on stage gave the set its strength. Rhythm, percussion, keys and live instrumentation created space for Sama Sojah to move naturally through the performance, while his vocals and lyrics remained at the centre. As the set developed, the audience response became part of the music itself.
That relationship with the crowd is central to Sama Sojah’s live identity. His music is written to carry meaning, but it is also built to be experienced together. At Catwalk, the songs moved beyond the studio and became a shared performance.

Reggae from Uganda, alive on stage
The Catwalk performance reinforced the direction of Sama Sojah’s live work: reggae with a clear Ugandan voice, delivered with strong musicianship and the confidence to meet an audience in real time. The language, rhythm and lyrical identity remain rooted at home, even as the performance is shaped for larger African and international stages.
For promoters, festival programmers and audiences looking for serious live reggae from Uganda, Sama Sojah belongs in that conversation. The Catwalk night showed why: presence, original music, live musicianship and an audience connection that continues after the set is over.
Afro Soul & Reggae Night is now part of the growing Sama Sojah live archive, a record of the stages, musicians and audiences shaping the journey.
